The Data Warehouse team's primary responsibility involves extracting data from various business systems and consolidating it into a centralized location in a reporting and analysis-friendly format. This collaborative effort extends to closely working with Reporting and Analytical teams, who furnish us with specific data requirements essential for delivering reports and analyses sought by top management, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Support departments. We are currently seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our Data Warehouse team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in gathering and organizing essential data for a variety of reports, dashboards, and analyses utilized by management to propel the Company and its business towards success. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to utilize cutting-edge tools and market leading technologies, while collaborating with industry-leading experts in the field.
Please, note that this is a maternity cover role with an approximate duration of 1,5 year.
As a Data QA Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Validating ETL results, data completeness, and data integrity against established business requirements and data definitions.
- Prepare SQL queries to test the data accuracy and quality.
- Conduct regression and functional testing to ensure the quality of production data sources.
- Contributing to the improvement of the quality assurance processes.
- Ensure that tested functionalities are well documented.
- Translate business requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
- Participating in SAFe Agile ceremonies as a part of the Data Warehouse agile team.
- Being proactive and taking initiative by engaging with business stakeholders and team members to comprehensively understand issues and propose solutions.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- At least two years of experience in the QA field with focus on testing data and reports.
- Knowledge of data profiling, data validation and data reconciliation will be a plus.
- Experience with T-SQL or PL/SQL is a must.
- Good understanding of QA processes and methodologies - test planning, test cases, bug tracking systems and software development life cycle.
- Good ability to prepare and maintain data source code and process documentation.
- Strong analytical skills and keen understanding of business processes.
- Prior experience with sales, marketing and financial data is a plus.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- The capability to tackle problems independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Down-to-earth, creative, self-driven and friendly personality.
Nice-to-haves:
- Working knowledge of Tableau and Salesforce.
- Good understanding of data warehouse architecture and ETL processes.
