Progress Corticon provided Pramata with the agility it needed to quickly write and test business rules to deliver the next generation of their commercial relationship data platform.
In this Success Story Spotlight, we look at Pramata, a company that provides an innovative solution that helps some of the world's largest B2B companies maximize customer lifetime value. By dramatically improving install base selling and assisting account management teams, Pramata helps companies meet their revenue targets. Corticon helped Pramata extract key data to help customers make better decisions.
When required customer data is siloed across systems, it's easy to overlook potential revenue opportunities. Pramata needed to address this problem by supporting clients with the digitization of essential contracts. By transforming commercial contracts into strategic assets, businesses can identify revenue opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
To bring its commercial relationship data platform (CRDP) to life, the company required a better approach to manage business rules.
Many business rules engines have the problem of being built largely around the inference engine, and as a result, they aren't well-suited to modeling and automating the deployment of complicated rule sets.
Pramata couldn't adopt this method since around 30% of the ruleset had to be changed for each client. Pramata needed a rules management system that allowed business analysts to quickly write, test, and debug rules without having to wait for IT to implement them.
Fortunately, Corticon's unique Excel-like spreadsheet user interface simplifies modeling terminology and rules for business analysts. Corticon also provides sophisticated analysis tools for decision logic validation, as well as testing, debugging, and deployment of rules. Additionally, Corticon offers interactive aid for detecting and solving logic mistakes.
Pramata can reduce the time it takes to tailor its solution for each customer by separating the rule modeling from the application code. Corticon allows analysts to examine how the platform makes decisions and confirm the findings by providing transparency into the rule design and execution process.
"I kept discovering more and more and getting more and more impressed with what Corticon is capable of," Pedram Abrari, the Chief Technology Officer at Pramata, said. "The ease of use, the complexity of the problems it could solve, everything."
